It’s been a while since I have spouted off..I apologize for my extended absence!  Seems as though there has been a treasure trove of controversy that must be addressed.

Regarding the Dez Bryant interview mess (being asked if his mother ever was a prostitute).  I am a little torn about this.  On one hand, REALLY?!?! that is what you want to ask this guy?  When does whether a man’s mother has a questionable past ever have any bearing on whether or not he can run a tight route, or has good hands when going across the middle?!  Secondly, what the hell makes you feel as though you have the right to be so bold as bring that up?  NOW…that being said, I think that it’s not the nature of the question that offends us…it’s the fact that it is about his momma.  For example, what if some of his associates were known criminals?  Would you really feel that put out if they were asking about known criminal affiliation.  I am quite sure that Pacman Jones was asked about his associates, nobody seems to feel like that is out of line..after all, where there is smoke there is fire…right?  So maybe this is just a matter of the momma-card, which I partly understand…ask an inflammatory question about my momma and we will be throwin’ directly.  For the record, I am appalled by the question..but I do attribute that feeling purely to the fact that we don’t talk about momma.

NOW…jumping into the Tasing issue of the day.  So some idiot goes to a Phillies game..gets bored, and decides to break up the monotony of the day by jumping on the field and running around like an idiot.  After chasing his butt around for a little while..the policeman on the field got tired running and tased the kid.  So, was the cop out of line in tasing the kid?  Since this is my blog entry..I will declare..HELL YES….TASE HIM TWICE!!  Now..to be fair..I will also state that I wouldn’t mind if they tased the morons that do the wave while your team is at bat!  But more to the point…whether you like it or not, recent history has shown us that you cannot assume people do not have bad intentions when do something that use to be considered just harmless tom-foolery.  Furthermore..at what point do they cross the line and become a threat.  During last night’s Pubcast (Episode 31 I believe) PGKyle mentioned that he was not near a player..and therefore posed no threat.  So here is my question…Morgana the Kissing Bandit who used to be famous for running out the pitchers mound to kiss the pitcher…do you find her a threat?  NO..I doubt you would..so the proximity to the player cannot dictate intent.  Unfortunately, situations like Monica Seles, the first base coach who was attacked by a father-son tandem, or even the tragic death of “Dime-Bag” Darryl from Pantera show us that there is a very real chance that bad intentions accompany the rabid fan who can’t stay behind the line.  For better or worse, there is no longer a free-pass that should be given to these idiots.  It might suck that we have come to this..but it is what it is.

Alright…you are probably sick of me ranting on and on…so I will cease to spew my crazy-ass opinions!  As a special side note…I was fortunate enough to receive some feedback that some of you had, in fact, actually read some of my past posts..and were sad that I had fallen off the blogging train.  I will try to be more regular…but mostly I wanted to say THANK YOU!!! for not only reading my mindless dribble..but if you have enjoyed it..that is about the coolest thing in the world.
